Hello Everyone,
This is Dr Srividya, Medical Oncologist practicing in Mansfield Ohio . My husband Dr. Venkat is a practicing Internist. We are blessed with a daughter Akshayaa who is pursuing a doctorate in leadership in education and son Ajit who is completing pre med this year . Both of them trained in Taekwando, Akshayaa bikes and does yoga while Ajit played tennis at the state level in his senior year . A dog Freddy and kitten Benny complete our family .
I did my MBBS in Chennai and pursued post graduation in obstetrics and gynecology in institute of obstetrics and gynecology Chennai. In pursuit of higher education , my husband and I moved to St. George’s , a Caribbean island where we both taught in the medical school for few months . Subsequently we moved to New York and completed internal medicine residency at Queens hospital center .I practiced as an Internist for eight years while raising the children . A fellowship at Ohio state university to pursue my dream of becoming an Oncologist followed. I completed fellowship in both medical oncology and palliative care and hospice.. I am currently board certified in Internal Medicine , Medical Oncology and Palliative care and Hospice, my practice primarily consists of oncology and palliative care while also serving as the site director for oncology services at Ohio Health Mansfield hospital .
I have always been interested in challenging the status quo and constantly explore doing things out of my comfort zone . Regular exercise was never a part of my daily routine . I had wanted to be part of a group where I could be held accountable but could not make it to the gym consistently because of the work schedule. Getting to know about RHWB was a blessing at the right time . Connecting with a friend from high school who is a fantastic human being and excellent coach were added bonuses . I started the program and have completed two half marathons . A health setback hit and a break in Season 6 ensued. After back 2 back two seasons , I felt a part of me was missing during season 6. Sitting on the sidelines watching the world run around me was hard but a good training in one way. This season I am training for a 10K and anticipate running to be a permanent part of my life .
I am excited to be part of RHWB where we are able to interact with a group of highly motivated individuals as well as have a cheerleading group . I am hoping to do a lot of destination runs this season.
Besides Medical practice , I enjoy gardening , reading and traveling .
