Kayal Aravindan is a tech enthusiast currently in her final year at Rutgers University, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Statistics. Over the past few years, she has had the privilege of contributing to RHWB behind the scenes on various tech-related projects, and she is thrilled to now have the opportunity to showcase her work as a Tech Intern.
Kayal is passionate about AI, cybersecurity, and web development, and she is eager to learn from and collaborate with the talented team at RHWB. Her journey with RHWB began not in tech, but as a runner. She joined RHWB during Season 8, introduced by her parents, Arvind (who is also part of the tech team) and Kanchana, who both joined in Season 5. Three seasons later, Kayal and her two sisters, Ani and Nila, decided to join the fun and see what all the excitement was about.
Growing up, Kayal was always an athletic child, passionate about playing all sorts of sports, but running was never her strong suit. She vividly remembers dreading the pacer tests in school, feeling defeated each time. It took a lot of courage for her to join a running program, as running had never come naturally to her. However, after four seasons with RHWB, she can’t imagine her life without running. It has become a form of therapy for her, and she now finds herself eagerly anticipating her next run.
When Kayal is not coding or running, she can often be found lost in a good book, playing with her dog Hazel, or letting loose through dance, which has always been a way for her to express herself and unwind. She is also an avid traveler who loves exploring new hiking trails and discovering different cultures and cuisines. Whether it’s through a scenic run, a challenging hike, or a weekend getaway, Kayal is always on the lookout for her next adventure. She is excited to continue her journey with RHWB, both as a runner and a tech enthusiast, and she looks forward to the experiences and learning that lie ahead.
