Coaching philosophy

His story

From Table Tennis Captain to Marathon Coach

Sanjay has been a lifelong sports enthusiast. He captained his school and college table tennis teams and also represented his school in badminton.

Sanjay has been a lifelong sports enthusiast. He captained his school and college table tennis teams and also represented his school in badminton. An all-rounder in cricket, he enjoys both fielding and wicketkeeping. Sanjay began running at the age of 36 to get back in shape, maintaining a routine of running 3-6 miles daily for 10 years before being introduced to RHWB by his sister-in-law, Vandana Agrawal, a seasoned RHWB runner with multiple full and half marathons to her name.

Since joining RHWB, Sanjay has completed 2 full marathons and 3 half-marathons. Before RHWB, he didn't follow a structured training program that included strength training or stretching, resulting in ongoing musculoskeletal pain. However, after adopting RHWB's structured training program under the expert guidance of his coaches, this pain miraculously disappeared. He also benefited greatly from the vast knowledge pool offered by RHWB through podcasts, resources on their website, and active WhatsApp communities.

Sanjay completed his MBBS in Mumbai and, after finishing his residency in Medicine in New York, practiced as a hospitalist across the country for over 15 years. He eventually transitioned to a full-time remote role with a health insurance company.

A passionate traveler, Sanjay loves hiking in National Parks and exploring cities worldwide through walking tours with his family and friends. He has a keen interest in economic history and enjoys staying informed on business and political news. During his runs and strength training sessions, he listens to podcasts covering various topics, with a particular focus on successful people and businesses.

Sanjay is deeply grateful to the RHWB community for its selfless support, encouragement, and guidance. He credits this positive environment as the main reason he loves being part of RHWB. Inspired by the community, Sanjay decided to give back by becoming a coach with RHWB starting in Season 12.
