Personal Background:
Anand resides in Edison NJ, with his wife Coach Shilpa, and daughter Anishka who is a active sprinter in school. The family has a beautiful and over active Siberian Husky named Rosie who keeps Anand occupied most times. Anand works in the area of SAP with the United States Government, a job that he relishes a lot.
Running Journey:
Anand started running in 2020, inspired by his wife and daughter. Initially skeptical of structured training, he began by running a 10k alongside his daughter.
Completing his first 10k was a life-changing event, which led him to join RHWB (Run, Health, Well-being) for more formal training.
In 2021, Anand completed his first Half Marathon during the RHWB Race Day.
Since then, he has completed 4 Full Marathons and numerous Half Marathons.
2023: Ran the prestigious California International Marathon (CIM).
2024: Finished the iconic New York City Marathon, alongside his wife.
2024 Goal: Currently training for the 2025 Berlin Marathon and aiming for an
Ultra Marathon later in 2025.
Running Vision and Core Running Philosophy:
Anand values the experience of running over Personal Bests. Daily Consistency over miles is his underlying principle to be a good runner.
He enjoys running in exotic locations both nationally and internationally and thus explore new places. He always makes it a point to explore new places by running during vacations.
Running Highlights:
Running the Midnight Sun Half Marathon in Tromso, Norway, with his wife and daughter.
Anand's favorite races are the New York Road Runner (NYRR) events in New York. He has participated in numerous NYRR races across various distances.
Having run Races in 3 continents, namely North America, Europe, and Asia, he is looking forward to running in Africa and Australia, in the near future.
In his spare time Anand enjoys Biking. A future Duathlon is among his long-term goals.
He also enjoys reading books on History and Theoretical Physics. Space-Time is among his favorite debate topics.
Anand plans to motivate new and existing runners to take on running as a way of life and make it a habit-forming overall fitness goal.
