Moninder Bhogal(Mo)
Coach
"Why blend in when you were born to stand out."
Mo(ninder) Bhogal, also known as Mo, is an RRCA Certified Running Coach whose journey to running can be summed up in three words: “ICU to Marathon.” Mo is an optimistic, passionate, energetic, and fun-loving individual with a firm belief in leading a healthy lifestyle. His mantra is “Find your WHY (Motivation)? – If you find a single reason to make it happen rather than finding 99 excuses not to, everything else will fall into place.” Mo has found his WHY—not to be confined within the boundaries of his backyard and feel pitiable by friends and family.
Mo lives in South Brunswick, NJ, with his talented and wonderful wife, Sujata, their beautiful daughter, Aditi, and their handsome son, Angad. Mo loves music, food, and traveling, and he enjoys relieving stress by doing karaoke singing with Sujata.
Professionally, Mo serves as the Global Head of Cloud Practice with GlobalLogic Inc. (a Hitachi group company) based out of San Jose, CA.
Until January 2020, when he turned 51, Mo had never run any long-distance race in his life. He was never an outdoor person and even used to laugh at people running on the road or in parks. Despite this, Mo maintained a very active lifestyle, going to the gym for 45 minutes to an hour, 4-5 times a week, and doing at least 2-3 hours of Power/HIIT Yoga every week (which turned out to be a lifesaver for him). However, on June 20, 2019, Mo experienced a major health scare that became a life-changing event.
Mo has since started a YouTube channel called “Yoga for Runners,” where he uploads strength training workouts along with breathing techniques and short videos on quick remedies for injuries.
In May 2021, Mo completed his first full marathon, fully geared with emotions and tears. To date, he has completed seven half-marathons (RHWB & Philly Virtual) and will be training for his second full marathon (NYC/Philly) in 2022 with a goal of completing it under six hours.
His journey from the ICU to completing a marathon is a testament to his resilience, determination, and belief in the power of a healthy lifestyle.
