Coach

Indu Iyer

"If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you."

Indu is a RRCA certified Coach with RHWB and she is very excited to be a part of others' journeys to fall in love with running and help them reach their respective goals.

She lives in Hillsborough NJ with her husband Bala Mahadevan and two beautiful daughters Nitya and Ananya.

She loves to run, hike and travel. Her goal is to travel all over the world doing destination runs along the way. Apart from that, she loves spending time with her family and making new friends.

Indu started her fitness journey in 2011 with the goal of losing some weight after having kids.Little did she know this little love for fitness would grow into a passion of traveling the world running marathons.

I clearly remember running for the first time in 2012 on a treadmill at a speed of 3 but struggling and thinking running is not for me. I immediately reached out to a friend for help!! - says Indu with a smile
She kept at it and slowly started doing 5Ks, 10Ks, Half Marathons and 3 Full Marathons including 2 World Majors Boston and Chicago.

Being a non-runner for life, Indu's motivation helped me to get going...she encouraged me and said 'I can already see you at the finish line, don't give up! You can do this!'

I spoke to Indu a few times but felt like I knew her for long time! A very good person and an awesome leader.

When I injured my knee, Indu guided me with her knowledge and experience. With her advice, I recovered soon and was back on the running track!

I am on my Abbott 6 Star Journey and I hope to get it done by 2025 with my family’s support, says Indu.

Running for Indu is a way of escaping from stress and she loves the competitive side as it allows her to push herself to be her best version!
Its always ME versus ME says Indu.

Indu joined RHWB in 2021 and did her first Full Marathon (Philadelphia) in Nov 2021. Then she went for her first World Major Chicago (2022) and then in April 2023, she ran the most prestigious marathon Boston.
Running Boston is like a dream come true and I haven’t experienced anything like this before- says Indu

She owes her success to the entire RHWB Coaching & the wonderful support from the team. She started her Coaching stint on S6 and wish to continue for as along as possible

" I have made so many wonderful friends along the way and I feel Running together makes friendship stronger and stronger," says Indu.
